home Other CrimesVictim Support can also help if you feel you’ve been affected by any other type crime. This does not mean you have to have been a victim of crime yourself, it might be that someone close to you was the victim or you were a witness to the incident. This might include burglary, rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, race crime, homophobic crime, stalking, harassment, assault, murder or manslaughter.
What can Victim Support Wandsworth do to help?
· We will not expect you to name the offender or go to the police if you don’t want to. · We can help you by arranging a meeting so you can talk to someone about what has happened and how you are feeling about it. · The meeting can be at our office, at your home or somewhere else like your school. · We can help with giving you practical information such as helping you to feel safe again. · We can provide information about other agencies and refer you on if you want. · We can help with your school, the police, going to court or other agencies you may have been in touch with due to the crime. · We can help you to apply for compensation if you have been a victim of violent crime and your injuries (physical or psychological) last longer than 6 weeks. · We can refer you on to our counselling service if you feel you might benefit from this.
