home Other Information about our Service for Young PeopleWe have a full time Young Persons Worker and a team of volunteers who have been trained to work with young people.
We will support 10-19 year olds directly or with the parent. For children younger than 10 years we are happy to work with the parent but cannot work with the child directly, although we are happy to refer on to another agency that may be able to help.
If a young person comes to us under the age of 16 years and without permission from their parent or guardian we will need to establish competence. This means that we assess whether the young person has a certain level of intelligence and understanding about the service that we offer. If the young person is not deemed competent then they will be advised to either tell their parent/guardian or be referred on.
