home BurglaryPeople react in different ways to burglarySome experience burglary as an inconvenience, while others feel frightened or angry. All these reactions are normal and usually temporary. Talking to a sympathetic listener can help. If you have children, they may have strong feelings about the burglary. Encourage them to talk to you about how they feel and let them know you understand.
Practical help· Make a list of all stolen items and any damage to your home · Inform the bank/building society if any cards have been stolen · Make any emergency repairs. If you are a homeowner, the cost of this should be covered by your insurance policy. If not, the council, housing association or landlord should assist. · If any official documents are stolen, speak to the relevant authority (i.e. passport, rent or savings book)
